Denesha Snell, M.Ed. is a facilitator, strategist, and civic engagement leader known for creating spaces where people can think deeply, speak honestly, and move meaningful ideas forward. Her work centers on helping individuals, teams, and organizations navigate complex conversations, strengthen relationships, and reconnect to shared purpose.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning public health, civic leadership, community engagement, program development, and strategic communications, Denesha has built a career designing experiences that bring people together in thoughtful and transformative ways. She is especially skilled at reading group dynamics, asking powerful questions, and creating environments where trust, reflection, creativity, and accountability can coexist.

As the founder of AvantEdge Collective, Denesha leads collaborative work focused on culture, leadership, strategy, and community connection. AvantEdge Collective brings together professionals from diverse backgrounds to help organizations navigate change, strengthen internal alignment, and translate vision into meaningful action through curiosity, creativity, and practical strategy.

Denesha currently serves as Senior Advisor for Civic Leadership at PLTI-KC, where she works alongside parents, community leaders, and civic groups to strengthen leadership capacity and deepen civic participation. Her work includes coaching emerging leaders, supporting community engagement efforts, and helping individuals navigate pathways to leadership roles, boards, and commissions.

Previously, Denesha served as Director of Programs at American Public Square at Jewell, where she led initiatives focused on civil discourse and community dialogue around complex social issues. She also served as Public Information Officer for the Kansas City Health Department, leading communication and community engagement strategies connected to public health and health equity initiatives.

Across every part of her work, Denesha is driven by a belief that meaningful change happens when people feel connected, to themselves, to one another, and to the larger purpose shaping their communities and organizations. She brings a thoughtful, creative, and deeply human approach to helping people move from conversation to collective action.
